about

Sabine Vogel & Ignaz Schick have known each other for many years and first performed together in Berlin on various occasions during the Berlin Cobra sessions between 2005 and 2007. In 2006 they started working as a duo performing concerts in Berlin and holding several recording sessions. This album is a condensed selection of material compiled from different recording sessions the two organized between 2008 and 2011. Schick and Vogel share a strong passion for a profound & refined sound research. They create abstract multilayers of noise and static tonal textures which they both generate with a versatile and inventive catalog of extended techniques with their selected instruments. In addition to their unique sonic creations both artists are also subtly re-working and electronically processing their original source materials. The resulting music is a very personal, obscure if not mysterious type of "musique concrète" creating an imaginative sonic landscape.
