about

Analog synthesizer wizard Eliad Wagner & turntablist Ignaz Schick teamed up as Yemen Breakfast in 2013 and since developed this project into a fruitful working unit utilizing both concrete and abstract materials. They also collaborate in various other projects and co-founded the workshop ensemble Circuit Training the same year. Over the years they recorded several session meetings which resulted in a first EP length album on Avantwhatever in 2017. The music of "The Homesweeper" was recorded direct to DAT at Schick's house in August 2015. The music was performed in one go with no interruptions and was later divided into two complementing pieces. The two analog sound worlds (modular synths + treated vinyls) blend well and the two create an intense yet playful display of realtime musique concrete.
